When it comes to accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph (100 km/h), the Tesla Model S P100D with Ludicrious update is the second fastest production car in the world. It achieved a time of 2.28 seconds. The number one spot is reserved for the Porsche 918 Spyder, which was 0.08 seconds faster to reach 60 mph.
Note: it’s perfectly possible that the new Tesla Roadster will go below the 2 second mark. But at the time of writing it was not yet in production.
Top speed is another way of looking at the fastest production car. The Tesla Model S Ludicrous P100D has a top speed of 163 mph (262 km/h). That’s a long way from the Koenigsegg Agera RS. With a top speed of 277.87 mph (447.19 km/h) it’s officially the fastest production car in the world.
