Cost of Tesla battery replacement
According to Elon Musk, replacing the battery in a Tesla will cost between $5,000 and $7,000:
Model 3 drive unit & body is designed like a commercial truck for a million mile life. Current battery modules should last 300k to 500k miles (1500 cycles). Replacing modules (not pack) will only cost $5k to $7k.

He also says that current battery modules should last 300k to 500k miles. So chances are that you don’t need a battery replacement at all.
Note: if the replacement falls under the new vehicle warranty, the new battery will be free.
Cheaper batteries
It’s important to note that battery replacements might be even cheaper in the future. According to Bloomberg, the volume weighted average battery price fell 85% from 2010 to 2018, reaching an average of $176/kWh.
