In 2018, Consumer Reports dropped Tesla from its ‘most reliable cars’ list. But in 2019 Tesla regained its recommendation. The company was able to improve the manufacturing process, resulting in less hardware and software problems.
According to Consumer Reports, Tesla is more reliable than Volvo, Chevrolet or Volkswagen.
Reliability and buyer satisfaction
Although some Teslas had some reliability issues at the beginning of their production cycle, the brand still finished first in Consumer Report’s yearly owner satisfaction survey. This report shows that the satisfaction emerges from “routine software updates and little need for maintenance or repairs.“
